Cannot Connect to the Virtual Machine Try to Connect Again If the Problem Persists Hyper v 2012 R2
are you opening the managing director using domain credentials? try opening the managing director using the local host creds hold down shift right click run equally unlike user

How tin y'all run it using local credential? I idea Hyper-V merely works with domain setting? I tried running using my own local figurer account and could not add the host into the manager.

I tried a different user business relationship. It is another domain administrator account and it gave the same errors. I am starting to wonder does it accept something to do with the host rather than my client auto running Hyper-V Director?
The reason why I call back this way is the other host is perfectly fine (it contains both domain VMs and non-domain VMs).

need more info .... are yous connecting to a not domain Hyper V Server from a Remote Domain connected Hyper V Management Tool ?

Both my client (Windows eight.1) and the host are in the same domain. I log into my client machine using domain credentials and run Hyper-V Manager using the same credential.

I will assume that you are running 2012 R2 DC since y'all accept then many guests, Hyper-V (the service) will run either stand alone or domain, System Eye VMM on the other hand requires Domain, tin can yous console connect , i.e double click the VM in the Hyper-V manager and log in? (this is like logging in to a hardware machine with out network it'due south "straight"), are you shareing management network with the guest network? sorry so many questions with out seeing the setup you lot can install RSAT tools to your admin machine including the Hyper-V manager and connect to each server and work directly from desktop, most likely it's network, however if yous can't log in from the hyper-V manger directly on the guest you may have an incomplete setup or a screw upwardly login

The hosts are running Hyper-5 2012 R2 not Windows 2012 R2.
I tried running Hyper-Five Manager on my Windows 8.ane automobile as the local ambassador but I could not connect to the host. When I double click the VM in Hyper-V Managing director, it gave the fault above. Please call back this used to work and I *THINK* it stopped working after the daylight savings. But I double checked the time on those machines every bit well as hosts.. they are all fine...

create a link onto your desktop... agree shift right click and select run every bit ..server\username and then try adding the host

Hi Jared,
I tried information technology using DOMAIN\Ambassador and added the host onto the list. It is the same error:

Y'all were able to add the host to Hyper-V Director?

I really resolved this.. I right clicked the VM, Turn off (non shutdown), started the VM again and it worked... amazing... Even so don't know why it didn't

I actually resolved this.. I right clicked the VM, Turn off (not shutdown), started the VM again and it worked... amazing... Still don't know why it didn't
This only happened to me. It was rebooting after installing the 1st round of Windows Updates (new install).
Thanks, shutdown wouldn't work. Then i tried plow off and started it up once more. I am now continued. I would ask if you were dealing with updates, simply this mail is almost a yr former already. Either way, thanks dark!

This is happening again thanks to a recent Microsoft update. To resolve it, open the Hyper-5 manager, close down the virtual auto in question. connect to information technology, then get-go it.

That worked for me with a in March 2022 with Hyper-V hosted on Windows ten. All my guests could non be continued to by the manager. I turned one off, so restarted and , lo, I could connect to all the guests.

We had the same trouble. We solved it by doing a live migration to some other host.Than the problem was gone, even after moving the VM back to the original host.

The communication from LocalComputerPros solved this for me.
We have 9 VMs on a host and only 2 would not connect with the Hyper-V error. The offset one we created a new VM and but attached the same hard drives. This was a bit extreme and not needed, because the process of shutting downwards gracefully (no Turn Off needed), opening the VM connection and Then starting it up resolved the connection issue. No need to recreate or migrate anything.

darkconz post to turn off works -
as well if you fail over to other node then connect this works. Too works if y'all then fail dorsum over to the node that it wasn't working previously on.

SOLVED .....!
Simply plough off the firewall and connect it again. Or bypass hyper-V.....!
:)
