How to Customize Correctincorrect Response in Review Assessment Storyline 36

I beloved instruction Storyline to folks, and I love teaching every session. However, if I had to choice a session that would exist my favorite to teach, it would exist when we focus on quiz questions. In Storyline, they're so piece of cake to build! (Although, remember to take the time to craft well-written questions in the first place!) The standard, "out of the box" quiz options are amazing! You get groovy states (how the objects expect) and layers (for question feedback). But information technology'south inevitable…a question nosotros get asked in almost every session is, "How do I change the fashion the Correct/Wrong feedback looks when I build a quiz question?" In this blog entry, we'll talk about how to transform the look and feel of your feedback pop-up and customize it any style y'all'd like!

Feedback Masters

When you create a quiz question in Storyline, there are three basic elements:

1. the question itself,
2. the choices the learner tin make, and
3. the feedback prompt telling them if they got it correct or wrong.

The feedback comes in as a layer, and quite often I'm asked, "How practice I alter the color of the gray box?" or "How practice I modify the size of the gray box?" etc. The reply lies in theFeedback Masters. Feedback Masters can be found by clickingView | Feedback Masters.

If you've worked with Masters before, then this area should look a chip familiar. If not, here is a breakdown of what's going on…

The respective Layouts inherit the properties from the Masters, but you tin customize each of the private Layouts. Past default, the grey box is in the Master; therefore, you tin can't edit the greyness box on the individual Layouts. However, you can hands cut the gray box from the Master and create each individual Layout to take the color, size, or formatting necessary for your design. If there are boosted elements that you want repeated on every feedback layer, feel complimentary to add them here also! In the sample that you can download, I added a character that has an expression appropriate to the feedback layout.

Now, every existing quiz question and new quiz question that y'all build will utilize the Feedback Master yous simply created.

Multiple Feedback Masters

Feedback Masters also have their own Themes that you lot tin can salve and use in other courses or share with your team! These come with different Theme Fonts, Theme Colors, etc. and should exist like to your Slide Master Themes. That way, when y'all create the shapes on your layers (whether they're feedback layers or regular layers), the same font and colour is used throughout.
